Rio to Kineta

It rains in Greece, fortunately our intepids hadn't set off when it did it's worst, so sat it out on the hotel steps watching the drains struggle to cope with the volume. That and road works made for very mucky bikes. Cycling by The Gulf of Corinth is like cycling by a lake, the far side is clearly visible, at least it was today, with mountains seeming vaguely Scottish. The higher ones capped with cloud and even patches of snow to be seen.
Mechanical issues haven't helped  things, but a good flat road and a fair wind did help, plus a good Crocs type picknick.
The Corinth Canal here we come and although not long, it is an impressive piece of engineering, well worth seeing. Then it rained again, just to put a bit if an edge on what was a really good day's bike ride. Rail tracks which had to be crossed, made slippery by a heavy shower proved to be a bit of a hazard, which in spite of careful riding proved to be unnecessarily painful.....ouch. Luckily there want far to go and the crew managed to limp into the hotel, battered and bruised, but with spirits as high as ever.
